ON CONDITIONS: Though I use the traditional book-grading terms listed below, it is not possible to annotate the specific defects of each copy, so I’ve defined my terms to describe the average quality of the books in the respective grades.
New: Straight out of the printer’s carton with no obvious defects.
Fine: Clean, with no defects, but may show slight wear at edges of book or dust jacket.
Very Good: Shows signs of wear. May have minor defects: clipped or chipped dust jacket, dinged corners, etc.
Good: May have any of the defects above to a greater degree: rumpled or slightly torn dust jackets, bumps to the boards, etc.
Fair: A reading copy with significant cosmetic damage.
ON SHIPPING:
We typically ship orders once a week, sometimes more, depending upon volume received.
ON PRE-ORDERS:
If you order an item marked PRE-ORDER, please note that the release date is our best estimate and that all items in that order will be held UNTIL THE PRE-ORDERED ITEM IS AVAILABLE TO SHIP.
ON BACK ORDERS:
If you order an item with “AVAILABLE ON BACK ORDER” printed in green above the ADD TO CART button, your whole order will not ship until we have the back-ordered item in hand; this may require six weeks!
ON RETURNS: PayPal—which controls all the transactions on this site—has recently enacted policies that require HarlanEllisonBooks.com to charge a 10% restocking fee for erroneously ordered items (and/or incorrect quantities), so please review the items and quantities in your shopping cart prior to checking out.
ON DAMAGED ITEMS: We endeavor to package items to withstand the brutalities of shipping, but if you receive a damaged item from HarlanEllisonBooks.com, please report it immediately via the e-mail address above with a full account of the damage. We will endeavor to replace the item if possible or issue a store credit for the full amount if it is out of stock. We cannot issue refunds for audiocassettes, CDs, DVDs, or vinyl records that have been opened.
ON SALES: We cannot retroactively apply current sales to extant orders.
